Governor Udom Emmanuel: Job creation in Akwa Ibom State

The government of Akwa Ibom State as proven to show concern on the establishment of oil facilities that will help create job opportunities to the indigen of the state.

The Governor give assurance that soon Akwa Ibom State will be compared to the neighboring state in the Niger Delta, while  working hard to ensure it development agenda in the state.

Akwa Ibom is bless with natural resources like crude oil, palm oil and alot more. Meanwhile according to the governor's earlier statement made on locating oil Depot in Akwa Ibom State which will help enhancing job availability to the state he said.

The visionary Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, burning with the desire to attract huge volumes of Foreign Direct Investments, FDI, to Akwa Ibom and catapult the state into an investment hub of Nigeria, undertook the 21 storey building, a flagship of his government, as a major catalyst in his envisioned economic renaissance.

Following the Covid-19 Pandemic that leads to a long time lock-down.   The National Universities Commission has released new directives to vice chancellors of Nigerian for safe reopening of universities. The NUC directive was contained in a memo addressed to the vice chancellors, signed by the Director, Directorate of the Executive Secretary’s Office, Chris Maiyaki, on Tuesday. Tertiary institution students declare protest against closure of schools

Nigerian Students The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) have scheduled a peaceful demonstration for September 1, to demand the reopening of schools nationwide. Recall that in March, the federal government, through the Ministry of Education, ordered an indefinite closure of all schools across the country to curb the spread of COVID-19. The virus has so far been contracted by over 51,000 people across the country, killing more than a thousand. There have been agitations from different quarters, including teachers’ unions and students’, calling for a total reopening of schools since commercial and political activities have resumed. The government, in the past two months, has continued to assure that the schools will be reopened in no distant time. It is, however, yet to come up with a specific date.
